SO HOW DID A RAT LIKE APURON GET TO BE BISHOP?

This is the question those who select the next bishop need to ask before they select the next bishop.

Lots of people know how it happened. Lot of people who went to their grave only mumbling the truth at fiestas.

Some are still alive. Now they might talk.

But not sure Guam is ready.

  1. Does Apuron still have free access to church funds to use any way he wishes too even though he's been relieved of all decision making authority for the archdiocese?

  2. Tim, there may be holes in Dentons story. What do you sat to this??

Diana, IF the Denton account of the abuse took place 40 years ago, then it would then have happened in the OLD rectory, and not the current building now standing. But, their detailed description of the abuse describes the current "rectory" now standing which did not exist 40 years ago. Are they talking about the same church "rectory"?

    1. LOL. That's why, if you listened to what was said on the video, they referred several times to the old rectory that is now used as an administration building for the school, NOT the new rectory. Poor Diana. I hear there are plans to tear it down. Good. Let me know so I can take pictures and send them to Walter. It was a place of so much suffering it is probably haunted.

  3. Does Puis still have authority over chancery & our church? If he's still here then something is wrong.

  5. Given the kind of things Apuron has done to little boys I wouldn't be surprised if Apuron himself was also a victim of abuse. Maybe in the seminary in NY. He knew how to groom those boys from somewhere. Most men wouldn't do things like that.

    1. My thoughts exactly, and I have been doing clinical counseling for 30 years.

  6. I agree with Tim, and believe Guam is not ready at this time, to find out why Apuron was allowed to become a Bishop, so young and so unprepared.
The issues facing us are already complicated enough at this time, we could dilute the issues dangerously.

    1. Agree with you frenchie. Pressing issues must be dealt with first. Let us win this battle against Apuron before we turn our full attention on the others.

  7. Does Archbishop Flores have anything to do with Apuron's selection as his successor? What is the vetting process? Who recommended him and what were his credentials at the time? Were there others priests or monsignors being considered to become our bishop? Are there more priests involved in this sex abuse scandal? I hope and pray that more victims are emboldened to reveal their secrets for their own well-being and so that the whole truth can come out and we can start from a relatively clean slate and begin to heal. Yes, I understand that priests are human and have the same human frailties that we all have and that they, too, succumb to sin. I am a sinner, too. However, they did make the choice to become a priest, they did take a vow of chastity and they do have many steps along the way to prepare, be scrutinized, and reconsider their vocation. Most importantly, these were CHILDREN OF GOD who were preyed upon!

This is almost getting to be too much for me. My heart is full of conflicting emotions, my mind is spinning with all this new information to dissect and interpret. I am shocked, angry, disgusted and mostly, just sad. I try to remain hopeful but vigilant, prayerful but actively doing whatever I can to help our many causes as enumerated more eloquently by others in this blog. WE WILL NOT STOP UNTIL APURON IS REMOVED FROM ALL DUTIES AS ARCHBISHOP!!! (He is only a titular head as I interpret the decree).

    1. During one of his interviews (I believe with Jesse Lujan) Walter is asked how his experienced affected his faith. He replied that he has never lost his faith. That he still believes in his Church and in Jesus Christ. He said this very fervently. I'll try to find it, or maybe someone can find it for me. It is an example for us all.

    1. Fr Tony Cruz from St. Anthony? Hmmmm, biting my lips. No, I would rather entrust him to God's justice and mercy. No need to dig up old bones. May he rest in peace.

I study every word what everyone says and i listen intently. Walter shared with our readers that this situation did not damage his spiritual life. He still believed in our Lord and the church.
