Archbishop Apuron "bearing false witness against" Fr. Paul Gofigan
“…and really for disobeying the orders I had given him two years earlier. I had waited two years to see what would happen because so many complaints were coming in about why is he still working there with him, why is he so intimate…because he had built a stairway up to his room, his room is on the second floor, and he would come in the middle of the night, you know, with cases of beer and what not and stays there to the early morning…” - Archbishop Anthony Sablan Apuron, Metropolitan Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Agana, October, 2013, Tagaytay, Philippines

Airport bishop fly away. The Church on Guam needs a true leader.
ReplyDeleteI need your miles so I can go on trip.
ReplyDeletedonate your miles to Catholic Charity or something
DeleteIt's sad, that the Archbishop needs his hand held to get his position. All those who have been selected to be cardinals have done great accomplishments. They have even gone as far as writing books on the faith. Apuron's only accomplishment are his CDs. His CDs are not in demand.
ReplyDeleteGeez,,all the traveling done by the Archbishop must be a good remedy for his heart, I'll ask my physician for this prescription also.
ReplyDeleteTwo big benefits for his lust for travel and leisure:
Delete1.) The more he is away, the less damage he can do on Guam
2.) When he is gone we get to hear some original and meaningful homilies
One big problem when he is gone:
1.) The people he leaves in charge (his Vicar General and Chancellor) have learned well the dangerous management skills he has taught them.
Until we get a new bishop, we are doomed to experience a more arduous and painful journey in faith.
Lord, help give us strength!
Add Colombia and Italy to his December safari to Nigeria.
DeleteThree continents. Nice. Soon you'll add Asia, and will have traveled the world without spending a penny of your own. Talk about welfare!!
ReplyDeleteOh yes. Yet another Philippines retreat soon with newly ordained deacons.
ReplyDeleteMay we confirm the next travel dates of archbishop Apuron. Many in America want to meet this archbishop .
ReplyDeleteI don't know the dates but he stays at Giovanni's house in NJ often.
DeleteDo you mean Guiseppe's house?
DeleteGoing off to the white blue yonder again! Who is saying the 9:30 Sunday mass?
ReplyDeleteWhere is he now?
ReplyDeleteReading Junglewatch.
DeleteDon't forget his upcoming trip to Rome for the canonization of Pope John Paul II and John XXIII...and maybe he'll also be gone for his brother's first death anniversary. Isn't that coming up soon? He was a no show at the Cathedral for the Chrism Mass like 2 or 3 years in a row. He's setting a record for World's Most Traveled Bishop.
ReplyDeleteArchbishop and Fr. Pius are in Italy with Kiko and Carmen now (March 18 2014).
DeleteSo the question is are they on archdiocesan business or neo business? If neo business, are archdiocesan funds being used to pay for this? Pius is on the archdiocesan payroll by the way.
DeleteAnonymous at 5:31 on March 18 should check his facts. The archbishop has been on-island all week saying masses and observing his brother Ben's first death anniversary, including on March 18th.
DeleteWaiting to know. Who paid the airfare to Rome. Business class or main cabin. This is what the Bishops appeal pays for their travel to Italy. If this statement is not true please state so.
ReplyDeleteAll the travel of His Excellemcy the supreme and metropolitan archbishop of Agana Guam is paid for by his family and very close friends on Guam. The archbishop does not use any money of the archdiocese even when he travels on diocesan work. The archbishop is a very humble man living Franciscan spirituality. He only has one pair of shoes to his name , all his money is now given to the poor , and his family take care of him and also fr. Pius. Fr. Pius travels with the archbishop to keep him company on the plane. Fr. Pius helps carry his bags and materials. What is wrong with this.
ReplyDeleteFr. Pius is not in Rome. He is in the states for a surgery. Keep him in your prayers.
DeleteNot to speak badly of Fr. Pius, but how you say he accompanies the Archbishop to help carry his bags when he is clearly incapable of carrying his own bags. Just look at him when he is at Mass, unfortunately he can not stand for long periods of times because of his age.
DeleteSecondly, to say that Archbishop "is a very humble man living in Franciscan spirituality" is way off! How can you say that when he strolls around in a $68,000 top of the line car? It looks really funny when he walks out of the car in his capuchin habit - talk about hypocrisy.
And just to update the travel log, is anyone else joining Archbishop's visit to the PI to visit Kiko? He'll be there in early June and the entire Yona seminary will be joining him......hmmm? I wonder who is paying for all 40 plane tickets???
Just read this page and the comment. Was not aware of this march 20 12.20 comment. But it certainly made me laugh. It's way off center almost shows someone who has no awareness.
DeleteIs it published that kiko is flying to the Philippines. I wonder if he will also be visiting st. Luke's. Who knows. Smile.
DeleteAnon on March 20 @ 12:20...all i can say is barf!!!
DeleteThe Archbishop's family doesn't pay for his travels, unless you consider all of uis on Guam his family.
One pair of shoes? Seriously?
Very humble? He must spread that great humility as he travels first class around the world, teaching other rich elites how to live a simple life. He is no longer Capuchin, and his Capuchin brothers have all but disowned him. He deserves respect as bishop, but certainly not for his lack of leadership, humility, or Franciscan simplicity.
Anon 3/20 @ 12:20, get real before I lose my dinner!
Too many anonymous!!!!!
DeleteWe will pray for pius
ReplyDeleteAny updates on the health of pius. Imagine he is a time health bomb waiting to explode.
ReplyDeleteApuron flies again for about 2 week!
ReplyDeleteRome is great this time of year. Join me in August when it's like Guam.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work, Tim. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteMr. Rohr, Thank you for your great work in making source documents available. The truth will set us free. We, the true Catholic Community on Guam will soon see a new Archbishop, the reinstatement of Fr. Gofigan, and the exposure of the NCW as the divisive cult that it is. God Bless You as you continue his work through exposing the truth and shining light on the corruption that has hurt our island.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the view of the NCW on the sacrament of the Eucharist ? I'm sorry to say this Archbishop bur we really need a true leader .
ReplyDeleteArchbishop, just leave. You offer us peace? Leave and we shall have it, and, oh, by the way....take your remaining two cohorts to fulfill your own NCW trilogy.
