MORE LAWYERS OFFER HELP TO ABUSE VICTIMS

Lawyers for Victims of Child Sex Abuse in Guam by the Catholic Church

On September 23, 2016, Governor Eddie Calvo signed into law a bill that abolished the statute of limitations for survivors of childhood sexual abuse.  The new law means abuse survivors can now file claims against the people who abused them as well as the people and institutions that allowed the abuse to occur.

When a child survives abuse by someone in a position of trust and authority, the resulting harm and damage can last a lifetime.  We are attorneys who can help survivors of childhood sexual abuse, and we understand that many child abuse survivors do not realize they are suffering until much later in life.

The lawyers featured on this website have a wide-range of legal experience, including some who have represented hundreds of abuse survivors with claims against the Catholic Church, the Boy Scouts, the Mormon church, schools, and other youth-serving organizations that failed to protect their clients from sexual predators.  Some of the lawyers are licensed in Guam, while others are licensed in other states but are willing to jointly represent abuse survivors in Guam given their experience helping people in other states.

  1. I know tim roberts personally and have used him for a probate case I was a part of and I can definitely say he's an honest and compassionate lawyer who always puts his clients first.

  2. Oh my Tony boy-toy...now you've really got to get it on with a new game plan. Does this mean ALL suits filed for Sexual Abuse by this deviant, Apurun, can be delivered to his attorney? Nackie Jackie? She has a nack for lying for Apurun it seems. Maybe its just semantics, right?...yeah, right!

  3. Be careful folks. When you get attorneys involved, nothing is sacred anymore. Money is what they glorify. Lol....

    1. Without attorneys Walter, Roy, Doris, Roland and more would have had to carry their burdens to the grave.

    2. That's not true. They would have come out in spite of attorneys.

    1. Yes I agree. Off island attorneys do not live here. They don't face us on a daily basis unlike on island attorneys. Off island attorneys are driven by profit and money.

  6. "More lawyers offer help to abuse victims" made me read it again. To abuse victims. To hurt them some more.

    1. No. That's what Apuron would do if they didn't have one. And he's use church money to do it. He said so.

  7. I am not in a financial position to participate in contingency litigation, though I have been a member of the Guam bar (currently inactive) for over two decades.

I have been on the opposite side of litigation with Mr. Dooley, and have the highest respect for his professional ability and ethics. He is a graduate of the highly-ranked UCLA School of Law.

As with all areas of litigation, having prior experience in a specialized field of law, such as child sexual abuse civil lawsuits, promotes efficiency, because counsel is not learning so many new substantive (socio-medical), legal (case-law, procedural), institutional (church organization & canon law), and discovery issues.

Thus, proficient and experienced litigators, such as this firm is, will often associate with off-island counsel who do have experience in a narrow field.

Their willingness to associate with off-island counsel is a sign that they are putting their clients first.
