WHY IT'S TIME TO FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE

One of the most consistently read posts on my blog, TheMassNeverEnds.com, is a letter I wrote in 2008 entitled Honest Thoughts on the Neocatechumenal Way. It has remained at or near the top place under "Popular Post" for nearly six years.

Today I received a comment on that post from someone I believe is either a priest or someone else well-placed within the church, and if not that, then at least a well-informed Catholic. The commenter advised me to retain the civil tone of my 2008 letter in the current discussion here on JungleWatch and to not allow incivilities from either side.

I replied with an explanation as to why it is now time to fight fire with fire.

Read the 2008 letter here. The subject comment and reply are both dated February 12, 2014.

  1. Hmm, the comment contains a phrase commonly used in legal briefs, but I don't think it was written by lawyer.

    1. He/ she said "our parish". I think that is a pretty big clue.
