UPDATE FROM ASAN

I was wondering when these guys were going to break.

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "THE ARCHBISHOP WANTS TO MEET - CONTINUED":

No need to ask the parish priest in Asan...at today's 5:00 p.m. Mass, he started attacking the "group that's against the archbishop" and then cut himself short by saying, "I don't wanna talk about this now." Fortunately, it is still very difficult to understand his Sicilian accent, even after more than a decade of being "assigned" to Guam! Then too, he's a "fruit" of the RMS, so his allegiance is obvious!

  3. We should just stop going to Masses celebrated by Neo Priests. But, if that is not possible,
then at least we should stop contributing to the their Sunday collections or requests for donations.

    1. If you do that, it's your parish that's gonna hurt, not the priest.

    2. have done that, I don't put anything in the collection box in the parish church, and I now go to Mangil;ao, Agana Heights, or the Friary, liked the Friary but don't know the schedule, went a couple of time and there was no mass on those two Sundays. jes of Chalan Pago

    3. Right. 8:23. The priests don't care. They're taken care of either way, aren't they?

    4. God always protects his priests and his people (Church). It's the parish BUILDING that will be shut down due to lack money to pay for power, water, and administrative operations to buy candles, hosts, wine, and other necessities needed for the sacraments. It's not that the priest s don't care. It's because people like you and Jes of Chalan Pago who don't care. You'd rather see the way destroyed even if the parish building goes down with it.

    5. Dumbest approach, Anon 8:23 is right your just hurting your village. What does Chuck White , Mary Lou, Maria and Tim Rohr care they all go to Friary which is not even a village Parish. Dear folks your hurting your own house hold, don't complain remember you did this to yourself.

    6. Actually, from what we've see so far from our neo-priests, they would be just fine with "the parish building going down", wouldn't they? See Santa Rita.

    7. 12:06pm. More ignorance on display, and of course from a coward to boot. I don't go "to the Friary". I attend the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite in response to Summorum Pontificum, the 2007 Moto Proprio - a document with more magisterial weight than an encyclical - of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, wherein he desired to see right implementation of the Council by restoring the continuity of the liturgy. Read it.

The only opportunity to attend and support this form of the Mass - with the intent and vision as stated in Summorum - is the once per week 11am Mass that so happens to be held at the Friary. No other parish or priest offers it.

But look who's talking about a "parish"! KIKO teaches that parish-based Catholicism is DEAD and as regards the celebration of the liturgy, a consecrated space is no longer applicable. This is why your priests are just fine with the destruction of the parishes. In fact, if they had it their way, all of Guam's churches would have been torn down by now and replaced with Neocatechumenaries.

    8. Tim you pick and select with your own liking? Your not contributing at all. Picking and choose. So you don't belong to any parishes. How do you do that Catholic that abandoned the Church? How do you bring them back? Apologetics?

    9. And so, Coward, you get to judge because....?

    10. Actually, 12:06, as you point your fingers and accuse another of having the "dumbest approach" you obviously aren't smart enough to realize that 3 of your fingers point back to you as being 3 times dumber as you demonstrate with your ignorantly hasty and faulty accusation!

I do not attend Sunday Mass at the Friary; furthermore, I am a contributing member of a non-neo parish that is not even in close proximity to the village where the Friary Chapel is and I attend Sunday Mass at my own parish; however, your inability to grasp and to understand discussions on this site is not a surprise at all!

    11. Actually, Anonymous (July 6, 2014 at 10:57 AM), people have found creative ways of supporting their parishes so, contrary to your doom and gloom perspective, the "parish BUILDING" won't shut down. Writing checks directly to utility agencies and/or purchasing supplies will support the parish in ways that will prevent the Archbishop from getting his sticky hands on the money and using it to support his NCW obsession. That might not be what he wants, but in this way, people can continue to support their parishes without having to support the NCW. And THAT is what we want.

As for Anonymous (July 6, 2014 at 12:06 PM): Even if I do attend the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite at the Friary (which, as Tim has pointed out, is the only place it is currently available), that does not prevent me from contributing to the support of a parish where NCW communities exist, though they are not as strong as before. I support it in a way that (again) the Archbishop cannot get his hands on my money.
BTW: 12:06, unfortunately YOUR level of comprehension is limited; therefore YOU'RE unable to understand that we can utilize creative means to support our respective parishes.

  4. Tim is right again concerning the priests. However, at this stage all of us should be concerned with the future of the archdiocese and what is best for the common good of all. Archbishop, like all of us has made administrative and personal mistakes in his life. Human weakness like all of us. What we are looking for now archbishop is an honest attempt by you to clean up the archdiocese and restore dignity, integrity and honesty. I believe if you make an honest attempt immediately issues can be resolved and detractors will change heart. On the other hand if yu continue on this path of destruction there is no other option than for concerned Catholics of Guam to call for resignation. We are fair honest people concerned for the archdiocese. We will save this archdiocese with or without you. Promise. Clean up the archdioce now or we ask the Holy see for removal.
