APURON VS ROHR. APURON VS TOVES.

I have to admit that even after all the unbelievable things we have seen this bishop and his bullies say and do, I really couldn't believe he would stoop so low as to hire an attorney to shut up John Toves
Apuron had to have known that Toves didn't have anything and would never have anything. That is not to say that what Toves is alleging isn't true. Many people have privately verified to me that it is. But the likelihood of Toves' "relative" ever coming forward was next to impossible - for reasons I will explore later.

So why did Apuron threaten to sue Toves into silence? Toves was essentially dead in the water. Even though he kept popping up here and there with the same allegations, there certainly wasn't enough for anyone to be worried about...

...or was there?

I believe that the real danger of John Toves is not about what he is alleging, but simply THAT he is alleging. In other words: speaking up.

I will explain.

I know a thing or two about this. When I first started speaking up back when the Fr. Paul fiasco was first breaking, Apuron went to Rome to get the Cardinal Grand Master of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher to shut me up. (I'm a member.)

I found this amusing if not flattering. Me? Worth going to Rome over? What? I and a few friends had a good laugh about it over a few beers at The Mermaid.

Up to that point, I had not even been very accusatory. Mostly I was only suggesting that something was wrong and that Apuron was being ill advised. Yet Apuron accused me of undermining his authority and cried to the Grand Master to shut me up.

I was taken aback by the accusation. Not because I was cowed or afraid, but because I was amazed that the all-powerful Archbishop would consider a small layman with nothing more than a blog a threat to his "no-one-can-get-me" authority.

After I got over being taken aback, I had an "Aha!" moment: I could only be considered a threat to his authority if in fact I was on to something much bigger than his little tiff with Fr. Paul.

My questioning of his treatment of Fr. Paul was certainly nothing worth going to Rome for...thus there had to have been a fear of something else. What was it?

I soon found out...just as John Toves is finding out.

What Apuron was afraid of was not my speaking up about his treatment of Fr. Paul, but that someone was speaking up at all. In addition, having been the personal beneficiary of my speaking up when I defended him against B.J. Cruz four years previously, Apuron knew that I was not to be cowed.

Thus it was important for Apuron to shut me down immediately.

Apuron, or at least his protectors, knew that once someone like me - and now John Toves - began speaking up, that we would become magnets for information, information that Apuron and his friends wanted to remain buried - some of which is from before Apuron was even made bishop.

So long as there was no one crazy enough to stand up to Apuron in public, all this "information" remained quietly sealed in the memories of many who are already dead or those who would prefer to go to their grave with it. At most, it might remain the stuff of snickers, shaking heads, and knowing glances at family parties.

And so it did..."remain the stuff of snickers, shaking heads, and knowing glances...until now...when one...and now two...have been willing to stand up. But of the two of us, John Toves is infinitely more dangerous.

He grew up with some of "them"...and thanks to the publicity Apuron has given him with his threat of a suit, they now know how to find him.

By the way, after I refused the Grand Master's demand to cease and desist my criticism of Apuron, he never wrote me again. Here's why: here and here

  1. Thank you for linking to your earlier posts, as someone who has been following your blog only this year. May the Holy Spirit continue to bless you with Fortitude.

  2. i'm only reading those old posts now, since i didn't start looking at this blog until fairly recently.

but wow, that's incredible. going all the way up to cardinal o'brien to silence you?!

what exactly are we dealing with here?

to work those kinds of connections just to shut you up can only mean that 1) there's great fear within apuron; 2) there is a great deal at stake; and 3) the perceived risk is sufficiently large.

it's possible that apuron is the lone actor in this. maybe he's going through some kind of shakespearean-style paranoia.

but i doubt he could do any of this without anyone's help. therefore, conspiracy is more likely.

assuming a conspiracy, the next question becomes: why? what's to gain and what's to lose? sorry to go watergate on this, but we've said it before: "follow the money."

    1. I think we need to see a detailed plan of the intentions of CCOG. We need to look at the finances that need to be raised in order to file in the court of Guam. Once readers know a detailed plan of legal action it will help identify funding. Most donars will now want legal action filed. The catholic church of Guam v. Arcbishop Apuron.

Seems like you, Tim, and a bunch of us agree that the Archbishop SHOULD indeed get on with the suit.....so what's taking him so long? Aren't you (like the rest of us) wondering why he hasn't done it?

      Delete
    3. Not wondering at all. I know exactly why he hasn't done it. There are people just waiting for a reason to testify against him and he knows it. I'm fairly sure though that all of this is Adrian's doing. His way of keeping Apuron in a hole while he runs things his way.

    4. I'm still laughing at 2:24. LOL. Who's the idiot? Who went all the way to Rome to cry to the Cardinal Grand Master of the Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem to complain about some guy with a blog? And I'm the idiot. LOL! So fun. So much fun. Almost don't want this to be over.

    9. I totally agree! For sure, for sure!

    10. Apuron must stay. Once he is removed or retired we will not be able to question him. By questioning we learn truth and it will be truth that removes him. In fact by his lyes he removes himself. He has removed himself already from the people. We just need formal questioning to confirm what we know. This will lead to a new appointment. He will be removed on facts on his evil against people against law.

    11. NEO CULT continues to use trash bags in order to avoid paying Catholic Chancery $$ that ultimately pays NEO Cult Presbyter's monthly stipend.

      Delete

    12. True 3.29pm trash bags filled with money that should be in parishes. Trash bags all cash where no assessment is made to the chancery. All money pays NCW salaries. Money in main parish collections decline. But the pastor has increasings bills to pay . So trash bags destroy parishes of Guam.

      Delete
    13. actually the NEO parishes still make money from its parishioners, How???
In Agat those attending the CCD program pay 20.00 for regular classes and 25.00 for First Communion and Confirmation. On pass years those fees cover whatever is needed for the CCD students in their class such as pencils, crayons etc. Those items are collected at the end of each class now students have to bring whatever is needed thus then goes the monies for the Presbyterian. Teachers for the program are all volunteers. They use to receive a small appreciation in Dec.(less than 100.00) per teacher which stopped several years ago. If receiving the Sacraments are part of our Catholic Faith then why do we have to pay for it? Kids receiving their Sacraments are also giving an envelope for donation on the day they receive the Sacraments. Something is wrong here.

      Flo B.

    14. Actually your children DO NOT HAVE TO ATTEND ANY parish program whatsoever in order to receive the sacraments. This is a MYTH. And shame on the parishes - even the non-neo parishes - for perpetuating it. In fact, it is the primary reason so few continue with the faith after they get confirmed. WAKE UP.

      Delete
    15. Tim is cortect. No one even needs to attend a parish to receive the sacraments. Mass can be celebrated in any private chapel in any sala . I have not entered a formal church to pray for many years. But yet mass in celebrated daily in a private chapel. No one actually needs a parish structure to live fully the richness culture of the catholic faith. Reality is you don't even need Apuron. You simply need to be in communion with the vicar of Christ and the teaching of the church on matters of faith and morals. Structure becomes less important. Living authentic spirituality of the church is what matters.

    19. Sorry for the delay on the reply. I no longer have a store but you can check with Padre Pio in Hagatna, or order it online. It's called St. Joseph First Communion Catechism. The other catechisms in this series are also perfect for general catechesis of children through teen age years.

    20. 5:31pm, 4:03pm's concern is legitimate. While the speaker is the bishop you make note of, 4:03's level of distrust of ANYTHING this diocese does is legitimate.

    21. 4:01pm. Be careful with this statement. I did not say that no one needs to attend a parish to receive the sacraments. In fact, this is the NCW mantra. According to Kiko parish based Catholicism is dead and unnecessary. What I said was that no one can require you to send your children through a PARISH PROGRAM in order for them to receive the sacraments. Parents have a canonical right to request the sacraments of initiation and penance for their children.

      Delete
    22. Yes 2.42pm your right. I am not neo but others also thought I was neo by my comment. So allow me to re phrase. We do need parishes but we can also make Prayer rooms in our homes where we invite priests to celebrate Mass. All we need is the Mass, Sacramemts, novena. Above all the Mass is what we need. A non neo priest told me I sound neo. But I am not neo and I detest putrid Pius.

      Delete

    23. 5.31pm. Apuron should have invited Archbishop Soc to speak at the CCD conference then many people would attend.

      Delete
    24. I am sure Apuron had nothing to do with the planning. He only signed the invitation.

      Delete
    25. Sorry 3:11pm. We CANNOT have priests celebrate Mass in our homes. This is what the Neo's believe they can do. Mass MUST be celebrated in a consecrated space and can only be permitted outside a consecrated space if "necessity requires." Canon 932. So while you may not be Neo and detest Pius, you are advocating for what the Neo's advocate for. Please read up on this at:
